Sydney-based L.I.Z.A Productions announced today the casting of Alexandra Davies (All Saints, Stealth) in the lead role for the feature film “Rivals” which is slated for production in late 2007. The award winning Writer/Director of “Rivals” Clara Chong said “We are excited by the calibre of talent who have responded so strongly to the script. ‘Rivals’ is an emotional, character driven story played out in the vibrant, cosmopolitan and sophisticated side of Sydney.”
The film is the story of childhood rivals who meet again as adults amidst the superficial beauty and high pressure in the world of event design. Also attached are Nathaniel Lees (The Matrix sequels, Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers), Vicky Haughton (Whale Rider, In My Father’s Den), Aljin Abella (The Sapphires, Neighbours), and Abby Jane Coleman (The Mole, Couch Potato).
Leading HD Cinematographer Ben Allan ACS and Composer Stewart D’Arrietta (Blood Oath, Looking Through A Glass Onion) have also signed on to the film. The Executive Producer is Catherine Waldby BCom, BEcon, PGBEcon (Hons), CPA.
Casting continues for the remaining principal characters with an announcement expected in April.
